1 Inch slack minimum works for me. But remember that how your suspension is set up makes a BIG difference. Sit on your bike and have someone check the slack. That will give you a better idea of the adjustment. Good Luck.

 

I was just about to create the same post! I checked the 890R Duke's chain tension today - what a silly method! When riding I many times hear the "slack" chain - especially when decelerating, running against compression.... The bike has such a long chain and it really feels much to loose while the tension is correct. Regards!

 

Somebody described the KTM as throwing a toolbox down a flight of stairs…They are a bit noisy and it’s probably that chain!
